Dr. Laura has been my doctor since I moved to Rochester nine years ago and I can honestly say she’s one of the best doctors I have ever had. When she decided to leave Rochester Regional to start private practice in Pittsford, I didn’t hesitate to keep her as my PCP, even if it meant traveling further for my consultations. Dr. Petrescu and her team have helped restore my health and give me a higher quality of life. A few years ago I was having so many digestive / lack of energy issues that I had to quit my job (I'm only in my early 40's!) and I became very depressed. I was always a healthy person, but after I got COVID my body seemed more sensitive to many things. My regular doctor suggested all sorts of invasive procedures and anti-depressants but she didn't spend more than 10 minutes with me despite my declining condition. I was so tired of not being listened to or really heard. That's when I switched to Dr. Petrescu. She takes so much time, especially in the beginning to get to know you (as in over an hour!!) and your health history. She answers every question you have and works on not only helping with existing problems but also preventing problems, imagine that! She suggested we look at my diet (which I was not super happy about) and with just a few small dietary changes I was able to resolve ALL of my stomach and digestive issues. Was I happy that I had to give up some of my favorite foods- NO! But I was certainly happy to not have bloating, body aches and daily diarrhea. My gut health is better than it's ever been- perhaps since I was a child. And perhaps best of all, which I thought would never happen, with her help I've been able to slowly wean off of anti-anxiety/ depressant medications which were giving me weird side effects. I was able to start working again, waking up without body aches and feeling so much better that I don't have to worry about what my digestive track will be like every day. I just can't say enough about how patient and caring Dr. Petrescu is. If you want someone who will really listen to you and not push you out the door after 10 minutes, as well as someone who likes to get to the bottom of various problems (and not just give a pill for everything) she is the doctor for you! -C.M.

5 Star Concierge Medicine Experience! My husband and I were so thrilled to find Dr. Petrescu and Nurse Jennifer while living in the Rochester area. When I first moved, I had waited months for an appointment with Internal Medicine at Rochester Regional Hospital to finally get to the day of the appointment and walked out due to waiting for over an hour for the provider without any communication from staff regarding the delay. I left feeling completely disheartened about local medical care however that same week I was referred to Athena Direct Primary Care and cannot speak highly enough about the experience my husband and I had here. We felt like VIPS! Dr. Petrescu was always on time, available for us outside of office hours when needed, gave us 100% of her attention during our appointments which were never rushed and Nurse Jennifer was equally available by phone, text or email to support our medical needs. The best part is how affordable this service was to cover the spectrum of primary care and a win win that we could still use our insurance when specialists were required. The process was seamless! Dr. Petrescu is patient, caring and takes the time to listen to concerns. This is a new experience for me. The typical doctor's office feels more like a factory (in and out in 15-30 minutes) whereas going to Dr. Petrescu I am able to discuss all concerns and feel like my health is taken seriously. In addition to that, she typically returns calls/texts with questions or requests within 24 hours, most times within 2-4 hours.
